LeTs-Care team member Dr. Roberta Perna, researcher at the Instituto de Políticas y Bienes Públicos – CSIC, was invited to speak at the I Congreso Multisede sobre Servicios Sociales, Cuidados y Comunidad – Los Cuidados que Queremos, held at CaixaForum Sevilla (Isla de la Cartuja) as part of this landmark multi-venue national congress organised by Spain’s Ministry of Social Rights.
The Seville edition of the congress focused on the long-term vision for Spain’s System for the Promotion of Autonomy and Care for Dependency (SAAD) under the theme Horizonte 2050, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to reflect on the sustainability, financing, quality, and workforce challenges facing long-term care in the years ahead.
Dr. Perna contributed to the plenary session “El contexto de los cuidados y apoyos de larga duración”, where she presented the analysis of the contextual factors shaping the organisation of long-term care in Spain – a key output of the LeTs-Care project. Her presentation placed Spain’s LTC landscape within a broader European comparative framework, highlighting the structural, demographic and policy conditions that define how care is organised, delivered and experienced at national level.
The session is available to watch in full on the congress YouTube channel, with Dr. Perna’s presentation beginning at 2:30:50:
This participation reinforces LeTs-Care’s commitment to bringing European research evidence directly into national policy conversations, contributing to the collective effort to build care systems that are sustainable, person-centred and grounded in rights.
