LeTs-Care researchers contribute to international dialogue on LTC

From 1 to 3 September, the Menéndez Pelayo International University hosted the UIMP-IMSERSO Summer Course, bringing together experts to reflect on the future of LTC. As part of the programme, three researchers from the LeTs-Care project – Barbara Da Roit (University of Venice), Roberta Perna (CSIC), and Alexandra Lopes (University of Porto) – took part in a roundtable dedicated to presenting the project’s findings.

At the International Public Policy Association Conference, ICPP7, held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from June 1 to 4, 2025, Prof. Poškutė (ISM University of Management and Economics) presented the paper “Meeting Long-term Care Needs of Older Adults in Ageing Societies: case of Lithuania.”

Connecting Horizon-funded Projects about LTC

LeTs-Care is part of a cluster of projects supported by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program, which focus on innovation in practices and policies in the LTC sector.

Porto Meeting: Innovative Research Strand on Ethnographic Work

From 10–12 February 2025, the LeTs-Care Consortium gathered in Porto for a meeting hosted by the University of Porto. Building on earlier discussions, the group continued to refine shared understandings of key care-related concepts, such as needs, care, and sustainability.
A specific focus of the meeting was the project’s ethnographic research.

What Does LTC Have to Do with Climate Change?

What does LTC have to do with climate change? In her speech “Vieillissement et changement climatique. Le système de soin à l’épreuve” (1st session “Crise climatique, changements globaux et territores”), Prof. Da Roit applied the LeTs-Care approach, based on contextualization of practice and policy development, to the joint challenges of aging and climate change.

LeTs-Care represented at the Workshop on Inequalities and Disabilities

The Workshop on Inequalities and Disabilities organised by the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission on 19 November 2024 will bring together ongoing and past projects to showcase their results and support their uptake by policymakers and practitioners.
